Kate Johnson, MD, Psychiatrist
Dr. Johnson is a board-certified psychiatrist with additional fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and in psychoanalytically informed psychiatry. She has experience working in perinatal psychiatry, individual and family therapy, and sexual dysfunction, as well as attachment and trauma disorders. Dr. Johnson helps her patients consider medication as an option for their treatment. She has a strong philosophy of taking a holistic and team approach to medication management, coupling medications with behavioral interventions and therapy when appropriate.
Dr. Johnson received her undergraduate degrees from Valparaiso University and her MD from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, with a focus in the medical humanities. She did her General Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of North Carolina. She is currently board certified in general psychiatry and board eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry. She holds memberships in multiple national and local professional associations. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina, working with resident education in the Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. Johnson is an authorized out-of-network provider and will gladly provide you with a claim form to submit to your insurance company.
